이 논문은 허수경 시에 나타나는 감각의 양상에 주목함으로써 허수경 시의 구성 원리를 해명하고자 하였다. 허수경의 시세계를 조망하는 선행연구들은 다양한 각도로 허수경의 시편에 주목하고 있지만 감각의 차원에서 허수경의 시를 해명하는 논의는 드문 상황이다. 전통적인 감각 이론에서 시각과 청각에 주목해왔다면 허수경의 시에는 미각, 후각 등 주변적인 것으로 여겨졌던 감각이 다채롭게 드러나 주목을 요한다. 허수경의 시에서 먹는 행위와 그에 대한 감각은 시적 주체와 대상의 존재를 증명하는 데 있어 중요한 역할을 한다. 또한 허수경의 시에서 시적 주체들은 허기의 감각을 통해 공동체를 이루는 구성원들을 떠올린다. 허수경의 시에서 ‘실존의 먹기’와 ‘공동체 먹이기’를 형상화하는 시편들은 ‘몸’과 음식을 통해 지속되는 생활의 감각으로 나아간다. 음식을 준비하고 먹는 행위는 강한 일상성을 환기하며 지속되는 삶의 시간을 보여 준다.

This paper analyzes the compositional principles of Heo Soo-kyung’s poetry by examining the various modalities of sensory perception embedded in her works. While previous scholarly discussions have explored diverse perspectives, there is a relative paucity of studies addressing her poetry through the lens of sensory perception. While traditional theories of sensation have primarily emphasized visual and auditory perception, Heo Soo-kyung’s poetry foregrounds a diverse range of sensory modalities, including taste and smell, which have conventionally been regarded as peripheral. In her poetry, the act of eating and its associated sensory experiences serve as pivotal mechanisms affirming the existence of both the poetic subject and the object. Moreover, the poetic subjects in her works evoke the presence of the community through the sensation of hunger. Poems that illustrate ‘eating as existence’ and ‘feeding as community’ extend toward a sensory engagement with the continuity of life through the body and food. The act of preparing and consuming food underscores the quotidian dimension of lived experiences, illuminating the temporality of a sustained life.
