Purpose Based on Christensen’s Resource-Process-Value (RPV) framework for dealing with disruptive innovation, this study investigates the role of dynamic capabilities in improving the performance of digital platform service firms in response to digital innovation.
Methods An empirical analysis was conducted using data collected from employees, partners, and experts associated with digital platform service firms.
Results The results confirm that dynamic capabilities significantly influence the enhancement of digital platform capabilities, leading to improved performance in platform service firms.
Conclusion By distinguishing dynamic capabilities from general organizational capabilities and providing empirical evidence within the context of the RPV framework, this study contributes to the growing body of research on digital platform service firms. Moreover, it highlights the potential of dynamic capabilities as a strategic decision-making tool for firms operating in rapidly changing digital environments.
