연구에서는 어머니의 퍼빙이 유아의 미디어 중독경향성에 미치는 영향에서 어머니의 민감성과 유아의 자기조절력의 순차매개효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위하여 만 3세부터 5세 이하의 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니 230명을 대상으로 어머니 퍼빙 척도, 어머니 민감성 척도, 유아 자기조절력 척도, 유아 미디어 중독경향성 척도를 실시하였으며 수집된 자료는 SPSS 26.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 상관분석과 Hayes(2022)의 PROCESS macro v4.3.1을 사용하여 순차매개효과를 검증하였다. 구체적인 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 퍼빙과 유아의 미디어 중독경향성, 그리고 어머니의 민감성과 어머니의 자기조절력 간에는 유의한 정적 상관관계가 나타났으며, 다른 변인 간의 상관관계는 모두 부적으로 유의하였다. 둘째, 어머니의 퍼빙과 유아의 미디어 중독경향성의 관계에서 어머니의 민감성과 유아의 자기조절력의 순차매개효과를 검증한 결과, 어머니의 퍼빙은 어머니의 민감성과 유아의 자기조절력을 순차적으로 거쳐 유아의 미디어 중독경향성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 어머니의 퍼빙이 어머니의 민감성, 유아의 자기조절력을 거쳐 유아의 미디어 중독경향성에 영향을 미치는 각각의 단일매개효과도 유의하였다. 본 연구는 어머니의 퍼빙과 유아의 미디어 중독경향성의 관계에서 어머니의 민감성과 유아의 자기조절력이 순차적으로 매개하는 경로를 규명하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to examine how a mother’s phubbing influences children’s media addiction tendency through the sequential mediation of a mother’s sensitivity and children’s self-regulation. For this purpose, data were collected from 230 mothers of preschool children aged 3 to 5 years using the Mother’s Phubbing Scale, the Mother’s Sensitivity Scale, the Children’s Self-Regulation Scale, and the Children’s Media Addiction Tendency Scale. Data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 for correlation analysis and Hayes’ PROCESS macro v4.3.1 (2022) for sequential mediation analysis. The key findings of this study are summarized as follows: First, correlation analysis among mother’s phubbing, mother’s sensitivity, children’s self-regulation, and children’s media addiction tendency revealed a negative correlation between mother’s phubbing and mother’s sensitivity as well as children’s self-regulation. Other variables showed statistically significant positive correlations. Second, mother’s phubbing directly influenced children’s media addiction tendency and indirectly influenced it through the sequential mediation of mother’s sensitivity and children’s self-regulation. Furthermore, the individual mediating effects of mother’s sensitivity and children’s self-regulation in this relationship were also significant. In conclusion, this study verified that mother’s sensitivity and children’s self-regulation were sequential mediators in the relationship between mother’s phubbing and children’s media addiction tendencies. These findings emphasize the role of family factors, such as mother’s phubbing and sensitivity, and individual factors like children’s self-regulation, in addressing children’s media addiction tendencies
