연구 목적: 본 연구 목적은 교양 한국어 수업을 듣는 국내 유학생들의 챗GPT에 관한 인식을 탐색하고 분석하는 것이다. 연구 방법: 본 연구를 위한 방법으로 대전에 소재한 W 대학을 중심으로 외국인 유학생들에게 설문 조사를 2024년 5월 13일부터 5월 21일까지 하였고 총 137명이 참여하였다. 연구 내용: 첫째, 국내 유학생들이 본국에서의 챗GPT 인식률을 설문하였다. 둘째, 유학생들이 수업 시간에 챗GPT를 사용해 본 경험이 있는지를 조사하였다. 셋째, 본국에서 교수자로부터 챗GPT 활용에 대한 안내 여부에 관해 물어보았다. 넷째, 한국에서 챗GPT를 접하게 되는 과정을 분석하였다. 다섯째, 한국인 교수자와 비한국인 교수자 간의 챗GPT 안내 여부에 대해 살펴보았다. 여섯째, 유학생들에게 앞으로 챗GPT를 수업을 위해 사용할 의향에 대해 설문하였다. 일곱째, 챗GPT를 배우게 되는 통로에 대해 질문하였다. 마지막 여덟째, 국내 유학생에게 챗GPT를 활용하고자 하는 의향에 관해 조사하였다. 결론 및 제언: 국내 외국인 유학생의 챗GPT 활용화를 위해 학교차원뿐만 아니라 국가차원에서도 지원이 필요하다. 또한, 교수자들에게도 국내 한국인 학생뿐만 아니라 유학생들에게도 챗GPT를 어떻게 가르쳐야 할지에 관한 교수자 연수도 필요하다.

This study aims to explore and analyze the perceptions of international students towards using ChatGPT in General Korean language courses. For this study, a survey was conducted with international students at W university in Daejeon from May 13 to May 21, 2024, with a total of 137 participants. The survey examined the awareness of, experience using, and whether the students had received guidance from their professors in their home countries regarding using ChatGPT. The study analyzed how the students were introduced to ChatGPT in Korea, and whether Korean and non-Korean professors provided guidance on using ChatGPT. The students were asked about their willingness to use ChatGPT for future academic purposes. The survey inquired about the channels through which they learned to use ChatGPT. Lastly, it examined the students’ intentions to utilize ChatGPT while studying in Korea. In order to promote the use of ChatGPT among international students in Korea, support is needed not only at the institutional level but also at the national level. Additionally, it is recommended that professors provide training programs on how to teach the effective use of ChatGPT, not only to domestic students but also to international students..
