초록

The design of the legal system for the computerization of bill of lading has been discussed in the Commercial Code Subcommittee of the Legislative Council since April 2022. Generally, the system under the discussion is in line with UNCITRAL’s The Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records. The new concepts of E-B/L Record, Control and Conversion will be introduced. Currently, the items relating to compulsory execution, good faith acquisition and carrier’s exemption of liability have been examined. It will take some time for the Legislative Council to advice to the Minister of Justice general plan for electronic bill of lading system
