본 연구는 다문화 전문 동료상담자를 양성할 수 있는 교육과정을 제안하여 향후 다문화 배경을 가진 국내 체류인을 활용한 다문화상담 전문 인력 양성의 방향을 제시하고자 실시되었다. 이를 위하여 공공과 민간에서의 다문화 상담자 양성과정에 관한 검토 및 다문화상담 선행연구, 21명의 전문가 델파이 조사를 실시하여, 기초와 심화 과정으로 이원화된 다문화동료 상담 인력 양성 교육과정안을 제안하였다. 다문화동료상담자 양성이 현실화되는 데 있어서 다소간 한계점이 있을 수 있으나, 본 연구는 다문화 배경의 이주민들을 상담 보조 인력이나 통역 지원에만 국한하지 않고, 전문 상담인력으로 양성하기 위한 논의와 후속 연구를 위한 시사점을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의를 지닐 것이다.

This study was conducted to suggest a curriculum to cultivate peer counselors specializing in multicultural counseling and to suggest a direction for fostering professional multicultural counseling personnel using domestic residents from multicultural backgrounds in the future. To this end, a review of multicultural counseling, the training course for multicultural counselors in the public and private sectors, and a Delphi survey of 21 experts were conducted to propose a training course for fostering multicultural peer counselors divided into basic and advanced courses. Although there may be some limitations in the realization of fostering multicultural peer counselors, this study will be significant in that it does not limit migrants from multicultural backgrounds to counseling assistants or interpretation support, but presents implications for discussion and follow-up research to cultivate them as professional counselors.
