본 연구는 직업 맞춤 호환형 한국어 교육과정 개발을 위해 기 개발된 일반 목적의 한국어 교육과정에 직업 목적 교육 내용을 호환하여 교육과정을 구성하는 방안을 제언하는 것을 목적으로 두었다. 이를 위해 먼저 직업 목적 한국어교육의 개념과 범위를 살피고 오늘날 증가하는 직업 목적 학습자에게 보다 실질적인 교육을 제공하기 위해서는 직업 목적의 한국어교육에 대한 범위를 더 넓게 잡을 필요가 있으며, 출발 수준 역시 초급 수준을 염두에 둘 필요가 있다는 것을 제시하였다. 이는 관련된 교재 분석을 통해서도 확인할 수 있었는데, 기존에 개발된 직업 목적의 한국어 교재를 보면 사무직을 대상으로 한 비즈니스 한국어의 경우 중급 수준의 내용이 상당 부분 포함되어 있었으며, 생산직 근로자를 대상으로 개발된 교재는 대부분 초급 수준의 학습자를 염두에 두고 개발되었다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 초급 수준으로 개발된 직업 목적의 한국어 교재는 직업군에서 사용될 어휘에 대한 학습을 중심으로 하여 구성되어 있어 한국어의 보편적 발달을 도모하기에는 한계가 있었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기존에 개발되어 있는 일반 목적의 한국어 교육과정에 직업 목적 교육 내용을 호환하여 교육과정을 개발하는 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이에 대한 실례로 세종학당에서 사용되는 세종한국어 초급 과정에 생산직 근로자를 위한 한국어 교재 내용을 호환하는 과정을 제시하였다. 이와 같은 교육과정 개발 방식은 기존에 잘 구성된 일반 목적 한국어 교육과정에 산업 현장별 특성을 보다 수월하게 접목할 수 있게 한다는 점에서 현장 활용도를 높일 수 있으며, 또한 전문 인력의 확보가 어려운 해외 기관 등에서 발 빠르게 교육과정을 개발해야 할 때 적용하기 좋은 방법이라 하겠다.
The purpose of this study is to propose a plan to construct a curriculum by compatible with the previously developed general-purpose Korean curriculum with occupational-purpose educational content for the development of a occupational-customized Korean curriculum. To this end, the concept and scope of Korean language education for occupational purposes were examined. In addition, it was suggested that in order to provide more practical education to today's increasing number of occupational learners, it is necessary to broaden the scope of Korean language education for occupational purposes, and that the starting level of education also needs to be kept in mind at the beginner level. This could also be confirmed through the analysis of related textbooks, and it was found that most of the textbooks developed for occupational Korean for office workers included intermediate-level content, and most of the textbooks developed for production workers were developed with beginner-level learners in mind. However, there was a limit to promoting the universal development of the Korean language because Korean textbooks for occupational purposes developed at the beginner level were organized around learning vocabulary to be used in the occupational group. Therefore, this study attempted to suggest a plan to develop a curriculum by compatible with the contents of occupational curriculum for general purposes in the existing Korean language curriculum. As an example of this, a process was presented in which the contents of Korean textbooks for production workers were compatible with the Sejong Korean beginner course used at King Sejong Institute. Such a curriculum development method can increase field utilization in that it makes it easier to incorporate the characteristics of each industry site into a well-organized general-purpose Korean curriculum, and it is a good method to apply when it is necessary to quickly develop a curriculum in overseas institutions where it is difficult to secure professional manpower.
