본인은 이 연구에서 한국의 고등교육기관인 아신대학교(구, 아세아연합 신학학교, 이하 ACTS)선교학 50년을 이해하고자 했다. ACTS는 빌리 그래함 목사가 주도한 국제 복음주의 운동의 배경 속에서 아시아 교회 지도자 양성을 위해 설립되었다. ACTS는 선교학 학위 프로그램을 제공한 대한민국 최초의 신학대학교였다. 아시아 지역의 양질의 신학 교육 부족 문제를 해결하기 위해 설립된 ACTS는 선교 분야의 지도자를 훈련하고 연구를 수행하는 데 중요한 역할을 담당해 왔다. 본인은 먼저 이 연구의 주제와 관련된 문헌을 검토했다. 이어서 학위 과정, 교수진, 특징 등 ACTS 선교학의 배경과 내용을 정리하였다. 본인은 교육과 연구에 있어서 ACTS 선교학의 기여를 설명하고 평가하려고 시도했다. 마지막으로 한국교회와 선교공동체에 대한 공헌, 세계 다수 교회의 타문화선교, 국제 선교 공동체와의 협력이라는 세 가지 영역에서 ACTS 선교학의 향후 방향을 제시하였다.

In this study, I sought to understand the 50 years of the missiology of Asian Center for Theological Studies and Mission (ACTS), a higher educational institution in South Korea. ACTS was established in response to the international evangelical movement, with a focus on equipping Asian church leaders. ACTS was the first seminary to offer degree programs in missiology in South Korea. Initially established to address the lack of quality theological education in Asia, ACTS has played a crucial role in training leaders and conducting research in the field of missions. I first reviewed literature on ACTS Missiology. I, then, summarized the background and content of ACTS missiology, including degree programs, faculty, and its characteristics. I articulated and evaluated the contributions of ACTS missiology in education and research. Lastly, I proposed the future direction of ACTS missiology in three areas: contributions to the Korean church and mission community, the crosscultural missions of the majority world church, and collaboration with the international mission community.
