Recently, billiards, which was played as a form of entertainment, was established as an official event at the National Sports Festival and recognized as an official sport. Interest in billiards is increasing, and the billiards population is rapidly increasing. In response to this, many techniques for playing billiards are being developed, the most basic of which is the method of stroking, as well as the process of separating the cue and billiard ball from contact. This determines the speed of the billiard ball, and the factors are related to the mass of the cue, the method of stroking the cue, and the characteristics of the tip attached to the end of the cue. Therefore, in order to investigate these characteristics, this paper analyzed the stroke distance and speed of the cue, the force acting on the cue, and the speed of the cue when hitting a billiard ball with a cue, and also analyzed the process by which the cue and the ball separate from contact, studied the contact time between the billiard ball and the cue, the speed of the billiard ball, and the impact force according to the stiffness of the tip.
