본 연구는 예비유아교사들의 교육실습 경험 분석을 통해 개정 누리과정 실천을 위한 교육실습의 개선 방향을 알아보고자 하였다. 예비교사들과의 면담, 성찰일지, 실습일지 등의 자료 분석 결과, 많은 실습생들이 아직도 계획에 따라 수업을 실천하고 평가받는 수업 중심의 실습을 하고 있었다. 이 과정에서 실습생들은 유아의 흥미보다는 교사의 계획이 강조되고, 놀이보다는 계획된 수업과 교사가 이끄는 활동 전략에 집중된 실습을 경험하였다. 반면, 일부 실습생들은 정도의 차이는 있지만 유아가 주체가 되어 확대되는 놀이를 관찰하며 유아가 주도하는 놀이와 교사 지원의 중요성을 깨닫고, 개정 누리과정 실천을 위한 유아 중심 활동과 놀이 지원 실습을 경험할 수 있었다. 이처럼 실습생들의 개정 누리과정 실천을 위한 실습 경험에는 많은 차이가 있었다. 하지만 그럼에도 대부분의 실습생들이 교육 현장을 관찰하고 현장의 불확실성과 불예측성, 유아의 유능성과 다양성 등을 현실로 경험하면서 유아가 중심이 되는 놀이 중심 교육과정 실천에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓힐 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 개정 누리과정 실천을 위한 교육실습의 개선 방향에 대해 논의하였다.
This study examined the practicum experiences of pre-service early childhood teachers and discussed directions for improving educational practice for implementing the Revised Nuri Curriculum. The data analysis of interviews with pre-service teachers, reflection journals, and practice diaries showed that many pre-service early childhood teachers experienced lesson-oriented practicums where lessons were planned in advanced, carried out accordingly, and evaluated after completion. In this process, the pre-service teachers were exposed to training which emphasized the teacher’s planning over the children’s interests, and focused on preplanned lessons and teacher-led strategies rather than play. On the other hand, some pre-service teachers were able to observe children’s play led by the children themselves, changing and expanding by the will of the children, and to realize the value of autonomous play and the importance of the teachers’ support. As such, there were many differences in the practicum experiences of pre-service teachers for practicing the Revised Nuri Curriculum. Nevertheless, most pre-service teachers were able to understand the uncertainty and unpredictability of the educational field and the competence and diversity of children in real-life contexts through experience, affirming the necessity of child-centered education. Based on these results, directions for improving educational practice for implementing the Revised Nuri Curriculum were discussed.
