본 연구는 육아 관련 이데올로기를 굳건히 하는 데 주요한 역할을 하는 육아 코칭 TV 프로그램에 드러난 영유아 자녀 양육 관련 텍스트 표현과 담론 형성 과정을 살펴보기 위해 『우리 아이가 달라졌어요 리턴즈』 9편을 Fairclough의 비판적 담론분석 모델에 따라 텍스트, 담론적 실천의 차례로 분석하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 영유아 자녀 양육과 일상에 관해 부정적 이미지를 연상시키는 과장되고 자극적인 회차 제목, 의도가 담긴 왜곡된 어휘와 수식어, 권력관계에 따른 발언 기회의 제한이 나타났다. 둘째, 치료적 문제행동 해결 접근 방식의 의학 중심 담론이 중시된 반면 개인의 가능성과 전인적 성장을 강조하는 교육담론은 주변화되고 있음이 나타났다. 또한 부모와 사회가 상호의존적인 관계에서 영유아의 건강한 발달과 성장을 지원해야 한다는 사회적 책임 담론이 주변화되고 각 가정이 자녀 양육의 유일한 책임자라는 관념이 중시되고 있었다. 본 연구는 육아 코칭 TV 프로그램이 만들어내는 사회적 담론 형성과 의도를 규명하여 영유아 자녀 양육에 대한 이미지 제고 및 육아 관련 TV 프로그램이 나아가야 할 방향 재정립을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하였다는 데 의의가 있다.
This study examined the prominence of text expression and discourse formation related to raising infants and toddlers, as depicted in a parenting coaching TV program illustrating the reality of childcare for young children. Specifically, nine episodes of the TV program 『My Child Has Changed』 were sequentially analyzed using Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis model. Firstly, the analysis revealed the prominence of exaggerated and provocative episode titles that evoked negative images related to childcare and daily parenting, alongside distorted vocabulary usage reflecting underlying intentions. Additionally, the study observed the prominence of inconsistent modifier usage applied to different subjects without cohesive parenting values. Secondly, the study highlighted the marginalization of educational discourses prioritizing individual potential and diversity, particularly when overshadowed by a medical-centered discourse focusing on therapeutic problem-solving approaches. Moreover, it was found that while there was prominence in the discourse assigning responsibilities and obligations for raising children within individual families, the discourse advocating for parents and society to support the healthy development and growth of young children together in an interdependent relationship was marginalized. This research contributes to clarifying the social discursive formations and intentions generated by parenting coaching TV programs, providing foundational data for enhancing the image of childcare and redefining the direction such programs should take.
