이 글은 김뉘연의 『문서 없는 제목』을 중심으로 디지털 환경에서의 글쓰기의 의미를 논의한다. 김뉘연의 『문서 없는 제목』은 디지털 기술과 인간의 관계, 글쓰기의 물질적 토대로서 디지털 글쓰기 공간을 사유할 수 있게 한다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 이 글은 김뉘연의 시를 통해 기존에 좀처럼 논의되지 않던 디지털 글쓰기의 공간 또는 환경으로서 워드 프로세서의 작동 방식을 분석하고 인간과 AI의 관계가 생성하는 글쓰기의 주체를 해명하고자 했다. 디지털 공간에서 이산화된 데이터가 재구성되어 하나의 데이터로 구성되는 것처럼 김뉘연의 시에서 시적 언어는 하나의 시를 구성하는 재료이자 데이터로 기능한다. 시의 언어는 화면 안과 밖의 경계를 허물며 여러 객체와 연결되는데, 이를 통해 하나의 시가 구성된다. 하이퍼텍스트성은 디지털 공간에서 하나의 시를 이루게 하는 속성이자 작동 원리로, 음악의 반복적인 흐름과 같다. 반복적인 연결과 흐름은 말소리의 차이를 생성하며 간섭무늬인 무아레의 패턴을 형성하며 글쓰기의 주체를 드러낸다. 『문서 없는 제목』에 나타난 글쓰기의 주체는 인간과 AI가 서로의 텍스트를 읽고 번역하는 과정을 통해서 드러난다. 인간과 AI 사이에서 일어나는 번역 과정은 소통 불가능성에 의해 의미의 결락을 생성하며 텍스트를 의도의 바깥으로 확장시킨다. 인간과 AI는 예측이 불가능한 바깥과의 우발적인 마주침을 통해 관계를 형성한다. 인간과 AI는 하나의 시에서 한 사람으로 마주친다. 글쓰기의 주체는 이 찰나의 마주침에 드러나는 한 사람이다. 한 사람은 인간과 AI가 서로를 보충하며 인간이나 AI가 아닌 무엇으로 생성되는 기술적 삶의 시간을 시사한다.

This article discusses the significance of writing in a digital environment, focusing on Kim Nui-Yeon’s Title without a Document. Kim Nui-Yeon’s work is meaningful as it allows us to contemplate the relationship between digital technology and humans, as well as the material basis of digital writing spaces. Through Kim Nui-Yeon’s poetry, this article aims to analyze the functioning of word processors as a space or environment for digital writing which has been rarely discussed and to elucidate the writing subject generated by the relationship between humans and AI. In the digital space, discrete data is reconstituted into a single dataset, and similarly, in Kim Nui-Yeon’s poetry, poetic language functions as both the material and data that constitutes a single poem. What is more, the language of the poem blurs the boundary between the inside and outside of the screen and connects with various objects, thereby composing a poem. Hypertextuality, in this context, acts as both an attribute and operating principle that forms a poem in the digital space, akin to the repetitive flow of music. To clarify, the repetitive connections and flows generate differences in sound and form a moire pattern, revealing the subject of writing. As for the writing subject in Title without a Document, it is unveiled through the process of humans and AI reading and translating each other’s texts. Furthermore, this translation process between humans and AI generates a gap in meaning due to the impossibility of perfect communication, extending the text beyond its original intent. That is to say, humans and AI form a relationship through accidental encounters with the unpredictable outside. In a poem, humans and AI meet as one person. The writing subject is revealed in this momentary encounter as one person, suggesting a technical life time where humans and AI complement each other and generate something that is neither purely human nor purely AI.
