본 연구에서는 국내외 재외동포 청소년 대상 지원 프로그램을 분석하여 국내 재외동포 청소년 지원 정책에 대한 시사점을 얻고자 하였다. 국내 재외동포 청소년 대상 프로그램이 점차 활발히 운영되고 있으나 한국인이라는 정체성 함양이라는 목표를 달성하기 위한 지역별, 연령별 재외동포의 특성이 교육에 잘 반영되지 않았다는 한계점이 있었다. 따라서 거주 국가별 특성을 고려한 맞춤식 지원이 필요하며, 국내뿐 아니라 재외동포 청소년의 거주국에서 정체성을 함양하도록 돕는 프로그램이 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 교사 교육이 강화와 더불어 해외 학교를 글로벌 네트워크의 장으로 활용하기 위한 활발한 논의가 이루어져야 함을 알 수 있었다.

This study aims to analyze support programs for overseas Korean youth both domestically and internationally, in order to gain insights into policies supporting overseas Korean youth. While programs targeting domestic overseas Korean youth are increasingly active, there is a limitation in that the characteristics of overseas Koreans by region and age, essential for achieving the goal of fostering a Korean identity, are not well reflected in education. Therefore, support considering the characteristics of each resident country and support for fostering identity not only in Korea but also in the residence countries of overseas Korean youth are necessary. Strengthening teacher training for overseas Korean youth and engaging in active discussions to utilize foreign schools as hubs in the global network should also be undertaken.
