본 연구는 러시아어 미각어들 ‘солёный(짠맛), кислый(신맛), острый(매운맛)’를 중심으로 기본의미와 추상적으로 확장된 의미들을 살펴보고, 인지언어학적 관점에서 미각어의 의미 확장 양상 및 특징을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 미각어에 대한 러시아인들의 개념화 및 의미 해석을 밝혀보고, 인간의 미각에 대한 신체적 경험이 언어의 의미 구조에 반영되는 사고와 개념화 과정을 들여다볼 수 있었다. 미각어는 해당하는 음식의 맛을 대표하는 언어적 표상으로서의 기본의미와 함께 다양한 인간의 심리적 상태와 상황, 주관적 판단 및 평가의 의미를 표현하는 의미로 확장된다. 이러한 의미 확장의 동기는 인간의 신체화에 기반하며, ‘음식 맛’에 대한 신체적 경험 및 인지를 바탕으로 보다 복잡하고 추상적인 개념을 구성하고 이해하는 개념적 구조를 이루는 것을 볼 수 있다. 즉, 러시아어 미각어의 개념 구조는 ‘신체화된 경험’으로부터 도출되었고, 의미 확장은 ‘감각 →지각→인지’의 방식으로 이루어졌다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 러시아어 미각어의 의미 분석을 위해 러시아의 대표적인 주석 사전들 및 말뭉치 용례들을 통해 의미 활용 범주들을 확인하였고 분석자료들을 추출하였다. 국내 국어학 및 타 외국어 학계와 비교해볼 때 러시아 언어학계에서는 해당 러시아어 미각어에 대한 연구가 거의 이루어지지 않았다. 맛의 범주는 인간의 삶에서 중요한 역할을 하는 만큼 미각은 인간 공동체의 가치 척도에 우선순위를 차지하고 인간 삶에 있어 다양하고 광범위한 영향을 미친다. 이처럼 인간과 밀접한 신체적 경험이자 세계를 인식하는 수단이고 해당 민족의 고유한 문화적 특수성을 지닌 표현 방식인 미각 및 감각 영역에 관한 활발한 연구가 필요하다고 본다.
This study examined the basic meanings and abstractly expanded meanings of the Russian taste words ‘солёный, кислый, острый’, and analyzed the meaning expansion aspects and characteristics of taste words from a cognitive linguistics perspective. Through this, we were able to reveal Russians' conceptualization and meaning interpretation of taste words, and look into the thinking and conceptualization process in which the physical experience of human taste is reflected in the semantic structure of language. Taste words have a basic meaning as a linguistic representation representing the taste of the corresponding food, and are expanded to express the meaning of various human psychological states and situations, subjective judgments, and evaluations. The motivation for this expansion of meaning is based on human somatization, and it can be seen that it forms a conceptual structure that constructs and understands more complex and abstract concepts based on physical experience and perception of food taste. In other words, it was confirmed that the conceptual structure of Russian taste words was derived from ‘embodied experience’ and that the expansion of meaning was accomplished in the manner of ‘sensation → perception → cognition’. To analyze the meaning of Russian taste words, semantic utilization categories were identified through representative Russian annotated dictionaries and corpus examples, and analysis data was extracted. Compared to domestic Korean linguistics and other foreign language linguistics, little research has been done on Russian taste language in Russian linguistics. I think there is a need for active research into the area of taste and sensation, which is a physical experience closely related to humans, a means of perceiving the world, and a method of expression with the unique cultural specificity of the relevant people.
