This study intended to examine academic phenomena in the field of local government studies by analyzing researchers' research fulfillment tendency, on the target at the analyses of the theses in 「Journal of Local Government Studies」 inserted on Korea Citation Index, in the field of local government which showed a certain citation frequency for the period of 2002~2010. First, as for the background of the researchers, researchers were man in sex, capital region in the region where researchers reside, professor in researchers' position at the time of insert, and single research in researcher type. The number of researchers for one piece of academic journal was 1.5 person. The number of inserters, classified with inserted pieces, was 1, mostly. The assist type of research expense was pure academic research. The last academic degree of researchers was doctorial degree, native ones 2.1 times more than foreign ones. Second, as for the reference materials, 41.5 ones were used in average for one piece. As for the type of reference material, most of them were academic journal. The academic journal incited for the most time of references was 「Journal of Local Government Studies」. As for the distribution status of academic journal, incitation frequency was about 10.1 times. The academic journal cited for more than 10 times was 12 kinds. In the relation with the academy in the field of local government studies, administration studies (7kinds: 63.7%) and policy studies (2kinds: 18.2%) were related high. Third, as for the analysis of key subject words, there were 330 key words. They were classified with 240 subject words. As for the subject words appearing most frequently, ‘local government appeared 9 times’, ‘local council 6 times’, ‘local election 5 times’, and 'partnership', 'local self-governing', 'local decentralization', 'public service' and 'governance' 4 times. 200 subject words appeared one time.
