This paper examines opinions toward food delivery drones and robots from the perspective of restaurants. A survey of 302 restaurant owners in South Korea was conducted to collect information on the willingness and opinion toward food delivery drones and robots. Specifically, an open-ended question (i.e., “What do you think about food delivery drones and robots?”) was included in the survey, and the survey respondents reported their thoughts, concerns, or feelings about the two delivery modes. Keywords in their opinions were extracted using a text mining technique, and the frequency, correlation, and association between the keywords were analyzed to better understand the enablers and barriers to the adoption of delivery drones and robots. Based on the analyses, practical and policy implications were derived for the successful implementation of the two advanced delivery modes in urban areas.
