본고는 남서울대학교에서 실시한 설문조사 결과를 바탕으로 코로나19 이후 교양 일본어 학습자의 동향에 나타난 변화를 살펴봄으로써 교양 일본어교육의 방향성을 제시하는 데에 목적이 있다. 설문조사 결과를 바탕으로 앞으로의 교양 일본어교육의 방향성을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 수업에서 다루는 어휘와 문법의 양을 줄이고, 필요 최소의 학습 내용을 제공함으로써 학습자가 수업에 잘 따라올 수 있도록 한다. 더불어 일본인과의 교류나 일본인의 일상생활, 전통문화를 잘 알 수 있는 일상 회화를 소대로 한 교재를 사용하고, 일본인과의 의사소통 방법을 실용적으로 배울 수 있는 회화 위주의 수업 형태를 취한다. 그리고 이번 수업으로 일본어 학습을 끝내는 것이 아니라 수업과 개인 학습을 불문하고 다음 단계로 이어지는 학습 내용과 방법을 함께 학습자에게 제시한다. 지금까지 세 가지 내용을 각 대학 상황에 맞추어 조율하며 적응시키는 것이 중요하다.

This study aims to explore educational trends of native Korean learners of Japanese for the liberal arts in the post-COVID-19 period based on results of a survey in Namseoul University from 2022 to 2023, and to suggest directions of Japanese language education for the liberal arts at universities in Korea. The three main points of the survey results are as follows. First, it is necessary to provide the minimum amount of vocabulary and grammar to ensure that learners keep up with class as much as possible. Second, it is necessary to use a textbook based on daily conversation about Japanese people, Japanese daily life, and Japanese traditional culture, and to conduct a conversation class that focuses on how to communicate with Japanese peoples. Finally, it is necessary to suggest the next level’s learning contents in order to easily go on to learn Japanese language after a class ends.
