본 논문의 목적은 중국 고전시를 연구하는 한 방법으로서 영상적 방법의 효용성을 증명하고 널리 알리고자 하는 데 있다. 즉 현대인에게 친숙한 “영화”의 틀을 통해 시를 읽음으로써 2차원 평면 위에 문자 형태로 남은 고전을 현재에 불러내어 빛과 소리를 가진 3차원 입체 영상으로 감상하려는 것이다. 이 때문에 본 연구기획은 순수 문학 연구로서의 가치 외에도 수업시간에 활용할 수 있다는 점에서 교육적 의미도 담고 있다. 이 논문에서 주요 분석대상으로 삼은 <唐人詩意圖>는 당대의 저명한 산수시인 孟浩然과 王維의 시 12수를 대상으로 그 화면을 그림으로 그렸으며 각 그림마다 시 원문 가운데 집중적으로 작가가 담아내고자 한 구절인 ‘표제구’가 쓰여져 있다. 이 논문에서는 그림을 시와의 관련성 속에서 한편씩 검토하였으며, 여기서 나아가 시 작품을 영상 각도에서 재분석하였다. 이번 논문을 통해서 왕휘의 시의도 및 관련 시와 표제구를 모두 살펴본 결과 전체적으로 하나의 일관되는 특징을 발견할 수 있었다. 표제구의 선택 자체가 일종의 강조가 되며, 그림 매체의 편의성을 고려하여 그리기 쉬운 장면을 선택한 점도 발견된다. 이 밖에 시인의 고뇌나 미련보다는 달관을 그리고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이에 비해 영상적 분석방법은 시의 시간적 흐름에 따라 모든 구절을 다루어 볼 수 있고 이에 따라 시인의 지향점뿐만 아니라 현재 처한 상태 등과 같은 변화까지 추출해 볼 수 있었다. 이와 같은 방법은 교육적 효과와 더불어 향후 영상 기획 등에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.
The purpose of this paper is to prove and publicize the effectiveness of visual methods as a method of studying classical Chinese poetry. In other words, I want to read poetry through the framework of ‘movie’, which is familiar to modern people. The goal is to recall classics left in the form of letters on a two-dimensional plane to the present and to appreciate them as three-dimensional images combining light and sound. In addition to its value as a pure literary study, this research project also has educational significance in that it can be used in classes. The main object of analysis in this paper, < Tangren Shiyitu (唐人詩意圖) >, depicts 12 poems by famous landscape poets of the time, Meng Hao Ran(孟浩然), and Wang Wei(王維), and in each painting, there is a verse title phrase written in the original text of the poem that the author wanted to focus on. Through this paper, we examined Wang Hui’s poetic intentions, related poems, and title phrases, and were able to discover an overall consistent feature. The choice of the title phrase itself serves as a kind of emphasis, and it is also found that scenes that are easy to draw were chosen considering the convenience of the drawing medium. In addition, the overall goal is to depict mastery rather than the writer’s agony or regret. In contrast, the visual analysis method can treat all passages according to the temporal flow of the poem. In addition to its educational effectiveness, this method can be helpful in future video planning.
