본 연구는 그림책을 활용한 어머니 집단상담 프로그램이 어머니 언어통제 및 양육태도에 미치는 효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 인천시 소재 도서관과 연계하여 만 2세에서 만 12세까지 자녀를 둔 어머니를 대상으로 참가신청을 받고 모집한 자발적 참여자 32명을 대상으로 대기집단과 실험집단을 구분하여 연구를 진행하였다. 그림책을 활용한 어머니 집단상담 프로그램의 처치에 따른 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 그림책을 활용한 어머니 집단상담 프로그램을 실시한 실험집단에서 어머니 언어통제유형(하위요인 3개), 어머니 양육태도(하위요인 4개)에서 모두 유의한 변화가 있었다. 특히, 어머니 언어통제유형의 하위요인인 명령적, 지위적, 인성적 통제에서는 모두 유의한 변화가 나타났음을 확인하였다. 다만, 양육태도의 하위요인인 자율적 태도, 통제적 태도에서는 사후 검증 결과가 유의하지 않은 것으로 확인되었다. 이에 본 연구는 그림책을 매개로한 집단상담 프로그램을 통해 어머니들이 자신의 언어유형과 양육태도를 서로 교류하고 탐색, 성찰하는 기회를 가짐으로써 명령적이고 지위적인 언어통제, 거부적 양육태도는 줄어들고 인성적인 언어통제, 애정적 양육태도는 늘어나 어머니 언어통제 및 양육태도 개선에 긍정적인 효과를 주었음을 확인하였다. 이상의 연구를 통해 그림책을 활용한 어머니 집단상담 프로그램이 그림책을 매개로 하여 어머니들로 하여금 자신과 자녀의 다양한 상황을 이해하는 경험을 제공하였고 이로인해 언어습관과 양육태도에 개선효과가 있었음을 확인하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the mother’s group counseling program using picture books on mother’s language control and parenting attitudes. To this end, a study was conducted in connection with a library located in Incheon, targeting 32 voluntary participants who received applications for participation from 2 to 12 years old and recruited them. The analysis results according to the treatment of the mother’s group counseling program using picture books are as follows. In the experimental group that conducted the mother’s group counseling program using picture books, there were significant changes in all of the mother’s language control type (3 sub-factors) and mother’s parenting attitude (4 sub-factors). In particular, it was confirmed that significant changes were found in all of the sub-factors of the mother’s language control type, such as command, status, and personality control. However, it was confirmed that the post-test results were not significant in the autonomous attitude and controlling attitude, which are sub-factors of parenting attitude. Therefore, this study confirmed that through a group counseling program through picture books, mothers had the opportunity to interact, explore, and reflect on their language types and parenting attitudes, resulting in reduced commanding and status language control, decreased human language control, and increased affectionate parenting attitudes, which had a positive effect on improving mother language control and parenting attitudes. Through the above study, it was confirmed that the mother’s group counseling program using picture books provided mothers with the experience of understanding their and their children’s various situations through picture books, which improved language habits and parenting attitudes.
