이 글은 우리나라 각 지역에서 새로 발굴한 방언 어휘를 소개하는 스물두번째 연재물이다. 여기에 소개하는 방언 어휘는 해당 지역에서 현재도 자연스럽게 사용되고 있지만 어디에도 소개된 적이 없는 예들이다. 이번에 새로 발굴하여 소개하는 방언 어휘는 충청도, 전라도, 경상도, 제주도 지역에서 발굴한 열두 개다. 이들 열두 개의 방언 어휘는 대응 표준어가 없거나 있더라도 형태나 의미, 용법이 다른 것들이다. 이번에 소개하는 충청도 방언 어휘는 서 있는 발 모양을 나타내는 어휘, 과일의 품질에 따른 명칭과 관련된 어휘, 사람을 나타내는 동사 파생명사 등 세 개를 소개하였고, 전라도 방언 어휘는 해녀와 관련된 어휘 세 개를 소개하였다. 경상도 방언 어휘는 어업과 관련된 어휘와 소와 관련된 어휘, 노름과 관련된 어휘 등 세 개를 소개하였고, 제주도 방언 어휘는 식물과 관련된 어휘 세 개를 소개하였다. 방언 어휘는 대응하는 표준어가 있지만 표준어와 기능이나 용법이 다른 경우도 있고, 반대로 표준어와 기능이나 용법은 같지만 의미가 다른 경우도 있을 수 있다. 어떤 방언 어휘는 지역에서 흔히 쓰이고 있지만 국어사전에 등재되어 있지 않은 경우도 있고, 어떤 방언 어휘는 지역 간에 형태적인 차이가 없는데도 의미나 용법이 다른 경우도 있다. 여기에 소개한 열두 개의 방언 어휘가 사용된다고 제시한 관련 지역 외의 지역에서 사용되는 경우가 있을 수 있고 여기에 제시한 의미나 용법, 기능과 차이가 있을 수도 있다는 점에 유의할 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this paper is to introduce and investigate the new dialect words that are used in a regional dialect in Korea. Twelve dialect words are introduced in this paper. This twelve dialect words are all the important linguistic material from the lexical and cultural point of view. This dialect materials were recorded from native speaker's dialogue or dictation. This dialects include three new words in Chungcheong-do, Jeolla-do, Kyeongsang-do and Jeju-do dialect respectively. The Chungcheong-do dialect vocabulary introduced three words: a word representing the shape of a standing foot, a word related to the name of the fruit according to its quality, and a noun meaning a person derived from a verb. The Jeolla-do dialect vocabulary introduced three words related to female divers. Three types of Gyeongsang-do dialect vocabulary were introduced: words related to fishing, words related to cattle, and words related to gambling. The Jeju Island dialect vocabulary introduced three words related to plants distributed in Jeju Island. We set out the standard word corresponds to dialect, a part of speech, a definition of the dialect word, a diversity forms of the each dialect word, related area, illustrative sentences and explanation to each dialect word. We can find through this work that the new dialect words makes significant contribution to study of the dialect. And the new dialect words enrich our vocabulary.
