Purpose: This study analyzed the health promotion, disease management, and health screening projects that are the focus of health policy for the elderly, and identified problems and possible improvements. Methods: This study is a longitudinal study that examines domestic literature and data on health policies and projects for the elderly, raises issues, analyzes cases, and proposes improvements focusing on health insurance and health and welfare services. Results: The cardiovascular disease prevention project needs to specify risk factors, increase budgets, and build infrastructure. Education and support for managing hypertension and diabetes at the regional level are also necessary. The physical activity project should be personalized and continuously monitored for effectiveness. The home visit health care project requires expert personnel and qualitative indicators to improve service quality. Nutrition services must be tailored to the elderly’s physical and nutritional needs. The dementia screening project should address blind spots through door-to-door screening, intensive management of vulnerable groups, and education and outreach. The elderly disease management project needs better coordination between local and central governments and efficient budget allocation. Last the elderly health screening project should use customized items and intervals to improve accessibility and effectiveness for vulnerable populations. Conclusion: If these improvement measures are implemented in an integrated manner, it is expected that the efficiency and effectiveness of the Elderly Health Policy Project will be increased.
