이 글은 최인훈의 연작 「총독의 소리」에서 비교되고 있는 냉전 시기 한반도의 ‘정치적 문화패턴’을 신정정치(테오크라시)의 관점에서 검토한 것이다. 그 연작의 저변, 즉 가상의 총독이라는 ‘적’의 입을 빌려 ‘우리’를 이롭게 한다고 하는 ‘빙적이아(憑敵利我)’의 정치적 의지가 모종의 신학적 사고와 상호작용하는 것임을 선행연구들의 틈새로 규정하고 분석한다. 그렇게 「총독의 소리」에 인용된 「요한복음」 1장 1절(“태초에 말씀이 있었다”)이 전후 냉전 세력의 보편주의적 지배상태(‘전 지구적 내전상태’)를 정당화하고 그것을 통한 간접권력적 이익분점의 상태를 보장하는 신적인 권위로 정초된 사정을 먼저 검토한다. 그 구체적 사례가 되는 「일본국 헌법」 제9조, 이른바 ‘평화헌법’ 조항에 구속된 정치문화에 대한 총독의 비판이 분석될 것이다. 이어 총독이 옹립하는 신국으로서의 제국 일본론, 즉 부활할 ‘절대의 육화(肉化)’ 상태, 한반도 지하의 총독이 회복시키고자 하는 신의 섭리적 지배상태를 검토한다. 끝으로 총독의 자기규정, 즉 ‘불령선인(不逞鮮人)’이라는 낱말로 표상되는 아나키적인 것을 미연에 ‘억지하는 자(카테콘)’라는 자기 규정이 제국 일본의 부활을 위한 규제적 이념으로 정립되는 사정을 살펴본다.
This article examines the political and cultural patterns of the Korean Peninsula during the Cold War presented in Choi In-hun’s novel The Viceroy’s Voice, from the viewpoint of theocracy. It was analyzed that the political will(憑敵利我) to benefit ‘us’ by borrowing the mouth of the ‘enemy’, the hypothetical Viceroy, interacts with some kind of theological thought. In this way, John 1:1 (“In the beginning was the Word”) quoted in The Viceroy’s Voice is first analyzed as follows. 1) we analyze the situation in which that one sentence justifies the state of universalist domination of post-war Cold War forces (‘the state of global civil war’), and 2) is founded as a divine authority that guarantees the state of profit-sharing of indirect power. Then, the state of union with divine authority, the state of ‘absolute incarnation’ to come again, and the state of providential rule of God that the governor of the Korean Peninsula seeks to restore are defined as a false-salvational alliance of third parties. As a concrete example, the Viceroy’s critic of the political culture of Article 9 of the Constitution of Japan (the so-called “Peace Constitution” clause), which functions as a central symbol of such an alliance, is analyzed. Lastly, I will analyze the process by which the self-definition of the Viceroy, that is, the self-definition as a Katekon, a person who suppresses the anarchic(for example, 不逞鮮人) in advance, is founded as an ideology for the revival of Imperial Japan.
