본고는 조선시대 한강 유람에 있어 최고 명승지 가운데 하나였던 한명회(韓明澮)의 압구정(狎鷗亭)을 대상으로 삼아 조선시대 문인들의 시적 형상화 양상과 주제 의식을 고찰하였다. 압구정은 동호(東湖)의 빼어난 풍경이 한눈에 들어와서 조선시대 한강변의 최대 명승지로서 중국에까지 그 명성이 전해질 정도로 유명하였다. 물론 그 배경에는 한명회라는 인물의 위세가 자리하고 있었다. 하지만 한명회 사후 조선 후기까지 압구정의 명성은 사라지지 않고 많은 문인들의 유상지로 각광을 받았으며, 그만큼 전하는 시문도 방대하였다. 압구정은 역사적으로 평가가 엇갈리는 한명회의 정자였기 때문에 일반의 누정시보다 시상이나 주제가 더욱 다양하게 나타나는 특징이 있다. 압구정 건립 초기에는 압구정의 승경과 주인 한명회의 공적을 기리는 내용이 많았다. 이는 성종의 어제시(御製詩)와 한명회의 시문 요청에 부응하는 차원에서 지어진 것으로 일반적인 누정시의 성향이라고도 볼 수 있다. 반면, 기심(機心)과 무심(無心)을 화두로 ‘압구’라는 정자의 이름과 한명회의 삶이 과연 일치했는지에 대해 비판적으로 반문하는 작품도 적지 않았다. 또한 후대에 퇴락한 압구정에서 부귀영화를 누리던 과거를 회상하며 인생의 무상함을 노래한 작품도 상당수이다. 이처럼 누정 하나를 두고 다양한 시상이 나타나는 경우는 드물다고 할 수 있다. 특히 누정의 주인에 대해 비판과 풍자의 말을 전하는 경우는 더욱 찾아보기 힘들다. 압구정이 단순한 명승지가 아니라 역사와 문학적으로 의미 있는 공간이라고 부를 수 있는 것도 이 때문이다.

This paper examines the poetic imagery and theme consciousness of the writers of the Joseon Dynasty, targeting the Apgujeong (狎鷗亭) pavilion of the Han Myeong-hoe (韓明澮) of the Han River, which was one of the most prestigious places in the Joseon Dynasty. Apgujeong, where you can see the outstanding scenery of Dong-ho (東湖) at a glance, was famous enough to spread its reputation to China as the biggest scenic spot along the Han River during the Joseon Dynasty. Of course, in the background was the prestige of the character Han Myeong -hoe. However, after Han Myeong-hoe's death, Apgujeong's reputation did not disappear until the late Joseon Dynasty, and it was in the spotlight as a tourist destination for many writers, and the number of poems delivered was vast. Apgujeong has a characteristic that awards and themes appear more diverse than ordinary Nujeong because it has historically been the pavilion of Han Myeong-hoe. In the early days of Apgujeong's construction, there were many contents honoring the achievements of Apgujeong's seunggyeong and the owner Han Myeong-hoe. This was built in response to King Seongjong's request for king's poetry and Han Myeong-hoe's poetry, and can be seen as a general Nujeong's tendency. On the other hand, many works critically asked whether the name of the pavilion “Apgu” and the life of Han Myeong-hoe matched with the topic of Gi-sim (機心) and Mu-sim (無心). In addition, many works sang about the futility of life, recalling the time when they enjoyed rich films in Apgujeong, which had fallen to the later generations. Like those, It can be said that it is rare for such various awards to appear over one pavilion. In particular, it is even harder to find a case of conveying criticism and satire about the pavilion's owner. This is why Apgujeong can be called a historically and literary space, not just a scenic spot.
