It has already been 100 years since trot settled in Korea. Since it was introduced into Japanese colonial era, trot has maintained a close relationship in various parts of society to the extent that it is not excessive to say that it is a part of our lives. This study was attempted to review the results of research on trot, which is currently receiving national attention, quantitatively and qualitatively. This study used the papers derived by entering the search term 'trot' in the RISS as basic data.
It was found that there were not many results of research on trot compared to its history. Results directly related to trot were 7 books and 101 papers, and other research reports and public lecture materials. Of the 101 papers, 18 were related to music, and academic papers were centered on the scale, and various musical studies were conducted on thesis for degrees.
As a result of the review of the research, both quantitative and qualitative results were shown to be poor in the musical research of trot. It has not deviated from the study centered on the scale, and in particular, the lack of evidence and speculative claims have been found in many ways. At the present time when the identity of trot has not been established, the research of scholars has an important influence. It is worrisome that uncertain and speculative claims are derived as the result.
