Objectives: This case report aims to present successful application of Korean Medicine Treatment in a patient with diagnosed with levator ani syndrome.
Methods: A 52-year-old patient with levator ani syndrome was treated with the comprehensive treatment approach including acupuncture, electroacupuncture, pharmacoacupuncture, herbal medicine, exercise therapy, and conventional pain medication. The therapeutic outcomes were assessed through medical examinations and interviews utilizing the Numeral Rating Scale (NRS) to gauge the extent and characteristics of rectal pain.
Results: The results exhibited a notable reduction in rectal pain intensity, shifting from NRS 8 to NRS 2 after a span of 13 days. Additionally, the treatment contributed to a shortened duration of rectal pain.
Conclusions: These findings highlight the potential effectiveness of Korean Medicine Treatment for individuals afflicted with leavator ani syndrome.
