본 증례는 코로나 백신 접종 후 발생한 이명을 동반한 돌발성 난청에 고용량 스테로이드 요법 및 고압산소치료를 하여 Slight improvement(SI)(Table 3)을 보였으나 청력은 Average threshold value 50㏈(Table 2), 이명은 THI score 38점(Figure 1)(Table 5)으로 Moderate(Table 6)에 해당하는 증세가 남아있던 환자를 한의학적 변증을 통한 한약 치료 및 침 치료를 통해 청력검사 상 250㎐~3㎑ 주파수에서는 Complete recovery(CR)(Table 3)에 해 당하는 호전반응 및 4㎑~8㎑에서는 Partial recovery(PR) (Table 3)의 호전반응과 THI score에서 Slight(Table 6) 한 수준의 상태로까지 회복을 보여 준 사례로 향후 코로나 백신 관련 부작용 치료 및 관리에 한의학적 치료가 유의미함을 나타내는 자료로 쓰일 것으로 기대되며, 고용량 스테로이드 치료 및 고압산소 치료 후에도 증상이 완해되지 않은 이명, 난청 환자에게 한방 치료가 도움이 될 수 있음을 나타내는 자료로 생각된다.

Objectives : The aim of this study is to report a case of Korean medical treatment for sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSHL) after COVID-19 vaccination. Methods : We treated 1 SSHL with tinnitus patient after COVID-19 vaccination. Modified Siegel's criteria and PTA (Pure Tone Audiometry) was used to evaluate improvement of SSHL and THI(Tinnitus Handicap Inventory) was used to assess tinnitus objectively. Results : After korean medicine treatment, there was a significant recovery in Pure Tone Audiometry and THI score was also decreased. Conclusions : This study demonstrates that the Korean medical treatment can help to control side effects of COVID-19 vaccination and can be useful to recover from SSHL with tinnitus after COVID-19 vaccination.
