본 연구는 1619년(광해군 11) 한여현(韓汝賢)에 의해서 편찬된 사찬읍지 『호산록』의 활용 방안에 대한 내용들을 검토하였다. 현존하는 여러 읍지 중에서도 『호산록』은 그 내용의 충실성과 더불어 콘텐츠적 요소가 풍부한 자료이다. 특히 서산과 서산 인근의 문화적 요소를 추출하기 위해서 『호산록』은 중요한 가치가 있다. GIS의 측면에서 서산을 방문하는 관광객들에게 관광정보를 제공하거나, 『호산록』을 토대로 테마 여행코스를 개발하는 것도 가능하다. 여행코스를 정하기 위해서 지리적인 접근성이나 연계망, 그리고 다음 관광지까지의 동선 등을 종합적으로 고려할 필요가 있는데, 이러한 점은 『호산록』을 통해 충분한 구현이 가능하다. 『호산록』 자료는 다양한 내용이 수록되면서 문화콘텐츠를 구현하기 위한 요소들이 존재하며 이를 시문, 인물, 고증과 재현으로 구분하여 살펴볼 수 있다. 첫째, 『호산록』에는 서산 지역의 명승을 주제로 한 다양한 시문·제영이 수록되어 있다. 둘째, 『호산록』에는 서산과 관련된 인물들에 대한 정보가 방대하게 수록되어 있다. 특히 인물을 중심으로 스토리텔링을 가능하게 한다는 점에서 다양한 접근을 시도해 볼 수 있다. 셋째, 『호산록』에는 과거의 중요한 정보들이 산발적으로 수록되어 있다. 대체로 전통이나 타 문헌으로는 확인이 어려운 내용들도 존재하여 자료적 가치가 높다. 대표적으로 거북차[龜車]와 민속 등을 들 수 있으며, 이를 통해 서산의 문화콘텐츠 구현의 가능성을 확인할 수 있다.

This study reviewed the contents of the Hosanrok, compiled in 1619 by Han Yeo-hyeon (韓汝賢). Among the various extant towns, Hosanrok is a material rich in content elements as well as faithfulness of its contents. In particular, Hosanrok is of important value in order to extract cultural elements of Seosan and its vicinity. In terms of GIS, it is also possible to provide tourist information to tourists visiting Seosan or to develop themed travel courses based on Hosanrok. In order to decide on a travel course, it is necessary to comprehensively consider geographical accessibility, connection network, and route to the next tourist destination, and this can be sufficiently implemented through Hosanrok. Hosanrok materials contain various contents and there are elements to implement cultural contents, which can be examined by dividing them into poetry, characters, historical research, and reproduction. Hosanrok contains various poems and poems on the theme of scenic spots in the Seosan region. Hosanrok contains extensive information about people related to Seosan. The characters are noteworthy in that they intensively show the culture of Seosan. In particular, since it enables storytelling centered on characters, various approaches can be tried based on items dealing with characters. Hosanrok contains important information from the past sporadically. In general, there are contents that are difficult to confirm in traditional or other literature, so their data value is high. Representative examples include the turtle tank and folklore, and through this, various possibilities of realizing cultural contents in Seosan can be confirmed.
