본 연구는 국악박물관 교육프로그램의 현황을 검토하고, 2022년 시행된 가족 대상 상설 전시해설 프로그램 <박물관 나와라, 쿵딱!>의 개발 및 운영 과정의 분석을 통해 국악 관련 박물관 교육의 발전 방향을 논의함에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 선행적으로 프로그램 운영 형태에 따른 국악박물관 교육프로그램을 검토하였다. 현황 검토를 통하여 국악박물관의 기존 교육프로그램이 이론·감상 중심 프로그램 및 일반 참여 형태가 대다수를 차지하며, 주기가 짧고 간헐적으로 운영되고 있어 개선이 필요함을 확인하였다. 이후 2022년부터 운영된 체험형 전시해설 프로그램 <박물관 나와라, 쿵딱!>의 개발과 운영 과정 검토를 진행하였다. 해당 프로그램은 국악박물관에서 처음으로 기획된 상설 교육프로그램으로 유·초등 가족 구성원에게 체험 중심의 교육 활동을 제공할 수 있도록 개발되었다. 프로그램 운영은 국악박물관 상설 전시를 중심으로 실감 콘텐츠 및 멀티미디어 활용, 초등 교과과정 연계, 이야기 중심의 설화를 소재로 전시해설을 운영하고, 체험적 요소를 강화한 1:1 가야금 연주 체험과 박물관 키트 제작 등을 구성하였다. 이러한 가족 대상 프로그램은 박물관 교육의 새로운 모델로 참여자들의 높은 만족도를 보여주었다. 그러나 프로그램에 참여하는 유·초등 어린이의 연령대를 다소 넓게 설정한 부분 등과 지속적인 참여 관람객에 대한 추가적인 콘텐츠가 제작되지 못한 한계점 역시 확인되었다.

This research aims to review the current status of educational programs in Korean traditional music museums and discuss the direction of development for education related to Korean traditional music museums, with a focus on the analysis of the development and operation of the family-oriented permanent exhibition interpretation program “Come to the Museum, kungddak (korea beat sounds)!” implemented for the first time in 2022. Korean traditional music museum educational programs were reviewed chronologically to achieve this goal. It was confirmed that the existing educational programs mainly consist of theory-oriented and appreciation-centered programs, with general participation being the majority. Still, they are operated at short intervals and intermittently, indicating the need for improvement. Furthermore, the interactive exhibition interpretation program “Come to the Museum, kungddak!,” operated since 2022, was developed as the first permanent educational program planned by a Korean traditional music museum, targeting family members with young children to provide interactive educational activities. The program operation centered around the permanent exhibitions of the Korean Traditional Music Museum, utilizing realistic contents and multimedia, linking with the elementary school curriculum, conducting exhibition interpretation based on story-centric narratives, and operating 1:1 Gayageum playing experiences and museum kit production to enhance interactive elements. Such family-oriented programs are perceived as a new model for museum education and have shown high participant satisfaction. However, despite the expansion of the program’s target audience to include family members of various ages, the absence of a systematic curriculum for operating differentiated educational programs and ensuring continuous participation was identified as a limitation. Therefore, the necessity of developing and operating educational programs considering target audience segmentation and continuous participation is raised for the future development of Korean traditional music museum education.
