An Experimental Study on the Acquisition of the ‘ba’ Construction by Korean Learners: Longitudinal Analysis Based on Acquisition Period and Cross-Sectional Analysis on the Acquisition of Semantic and Pragmatic Features

This paper explores the acquisition of the Chinese ‘ba’ construction by Korean learners, through two experiments. The experiments reveal that basic grammatical features can be acquired even in the early stages of learning. The learners are found to acquire formal expressions more readily than semantic features. In the semantic role of the ‘N2’, the learners show greater proficiency in the patient than in the experiencer and locative. Finally, learners demonstrate a high understanding of the definiteness features of ‘N2’, definite forms were higher than indefinite forms.
