This study targets beauty industry workers residing in Chungcheongnam-do and buk-do(including Daejeon Metropolitan City/Sejong City), Seoul and Gyeonggi-do, and Jeollanam-do and buk-do(including Gwangju Metropolitan City) to determine their perceptions of terms and characteristics related to the 4th industrial revolution. The results of investigating the degree are as follows: The majority of those surveyed were women, those in their 20s, and those who were married. The average monthly household income was more than 5 million won, and by field of beauty industry, the hair field was the most common. Most people had less than 3 years of experience and had a college degree. In the perception level of terms according to the era of the 4th industrial revolution, 5G mobile communication(average score of 3.31 points) was the highest, followed by artificial intelligence(average score of 3.57 points), big data and augmented reality/virtual reality(average score of 3.31 points), and internet of things averaged 3.15 points, followed by cloud computing averaged 2.83 points. In the perception level according to the characteristics of the 4th industrial revolution era and the beauty industry, the perception level of the 4th Industrial Revolution era was the highest with an average of 3.55 points, followed by the ability to check the condition of one's skin was 3.52 points on average, and perception of 3D printing machines for makeup was 3.03 points on average. Therefore, looking at these results, the perception level of the terms related to the 4th industrial revolution among beauty industry workers according to this study and the perception level of the 4th industrial revolution era and the characteristics of the beauty industry resulting from it are generally at a high level.
