이 글은 김규동의 초기 시에 반복 기법에 주목하여 그 기능과 효과에 초점을 맞추어 살핌으로써 김규동 초기의 시 의식과 시적 의미망에 도달하려는 목적을 가지고 진행되었다. 김규동 시에 나타나는 반복을 연쇄적 반복, 병렬적 반복, 점층적 반복으로 유형화하고 그것이 시에서 어떤 의미와 효과를 형성하는지 파악하고자 하였다. 2장에서는 특정한 단어가 연쇄적으로 반복되는 것을 살폈다. 김규동의 초기 시에는 암울한 세계를 인식하는 무력한 주체가 빈번하게 나타나며, 그러한 과정에서 다양한 반복과 변주가 나타난다. 이는 주로 반복되고 있는 하루하루의 권태와 그에 따른 절망적 표현들, 과거의 고통과 관련되어 있다. 특히, ‘시간’과 관련된 단어들이 연쇄적으로 반복되는 것은 폐쇄적인 시간 인식과 고통스러운 기억과 그 재생을 의미한다. 3장에서는 특정한 단어가 병렬적으로 반복되는 것을 살폈다. 근대와 전후 사회에서 김규동은 낯설고 불쾌한 감각을 선명하게 포착한다. 세계에 대한 인식과 감각, 충격을 병렬적인 반복을 통해 제시한다. 그가 충격으로 감지하거나 인식하는, 혹은 해석해내는 시적 의미에서 특히 ‘소리’와 관련된 단어들이 병렬적으로 배치되었다. 전후 세계의 불안과 충격, 근대적 세계에 대한 거부감을 강조하는 이 반복들은 동시에 주체의 왜소함과 무력함을 드러낸다. 4장에서는 특정한 종결 어미가 점층적으로 반복되는 것을 살폈다. 어머니와 고향을 향한 깊은 그리움을 바탕으로 정서를 심화하고 강조하는 점층적 반복이 초기 시의 한양상을 이룬다. 주된 반복과 변주는 구어체의 서술어 종결 어미에서 나타난다. 이는 어머니에 대한 아들의 당부와 걱정을 간절한 화자의 목소리를 생생하게 그려내고 그리움의 정서를 고조하는 방향으로 나아간다.

This article was conducted with the purpose of reaching Kim Gyu-dong’s early poetic consciousness and poetic semantic network by focusing on the repetition technique in Kim Gyu-dong’s early poetry and examining its function and effect. This study attempted to categorize the repetition that appears in Kim Gyu-dong’s poetry into serial repetition, parallel repetition, and gradual repetition, and to understand what meaning and effect it creates in the poem. Chapter Ⅱ looked at the serial repetition of specific words. In Kim Kyu-dong’s early poetry, a helpless subject who perceives a bleak world frequently appears, and various repetitions and variations appear in the process. This is mainly related to the repetitive boredom of each day, the resulting despairing expressions, and the pain of the past. In particular, the serial repetition of words related to ‘time’ signifies a closed perception of time and painful memories and their reproduction. In Chapter Ⅲ, looked at the parallel repetition of specific words. In modern and post-war society, Kim Gyu-dong clearly captures unfamiliar and unpleasant sensations. He presents perceptions, sensations, and shocks about the world through parallel repetition. In particular, words related to ‘sound’ were placed in parallel in the poetic meaning that he senses, recognizes, or interprets with shock. These repetitions, which emphasize the anxiety and shock of the post-war world and the rejection of the modern world, simultaneously reveal the smallness and powerlessness of the subject. In Chapter Ⅳ, looked at the gradual repetition of specific final endings. Gradual repetition that deepens and emphasizes emotions based on deep longing for mother and hometown forms an aspect of early poetry. The main repetitions and variations occur in colloquial predicate endings. This vividly depicts the narrator’s voice expressing his son’s requests and concerns for his mother and goes towards heightening the emotion of longing.
