본 논문은 김해시의 이주민 커뮤니티를 통한 사회통합 거버넌스 전망에 관한 연구이다. 부산과 하나의 생활권역을 이루고 있는 김해의 이주민 커뮤니티 연구는 부산의 이주민 관련 연구와 상호간에 유의미한 영향을 미친다. 본 연구의 목적은 김해 소재 이주민 커뮤니티의 구체적인 사례를 통해 사회통합 거버넌스 구축에 이주민 커뮤니티가 핵심적 역할을 하고 있음을 밝히고 그 활용 방향을 살펴보는 것에 있다. 연구 방법은 김해시의 이주민 밀집 지역의 현장 조사와 이주민 커뮤니티 관계자 심층 인터뷰, 김해시청 관계자 전화 인터뷰 및 관련 자료공개 요청, 이주민 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였으며, 이주민 커뮤니티 내의 일정 기간 동안의 참여 관찰도 병행했다. 연구 결과 기존의 이주민 커뮤니티간의 연대 형태인 가야 글로벌 센터 사례는 사회통합정책의 측면과 각 지역 사회의 특성의 투영이라는 로컬리티의 접목이라는 관점에서 이주민 커뮤니티의 중요성을 더욱 부각시켰다. 즉, 가야 글로벌 센터는 이주민과 선주민이 상생하는 모습을 볼 수 있는 초국가적 공간으로서의 상징적 의미가 내포된 공간이라 할 것이다.

This paper is a study on the prospect of social integration governance through the migrant community in Gimhae. The study of the migrant community in Gimhae, which constitutes a living area with Busan, has a significant influence on each other with the research on migrants in Busan. The purpose of this study is to reveal that the migrant community plays a key role in building social integration governance through specific examples of the migrant community in Gimhae and to examine its utilization direction. The research method carried out on-site surveys of migrant-dense areas in Gimhae, in-depth interviews with migrant community officials, phone interviews with Gimhae City Hall officials and requests for disclosure of related data, and in-depth interviews with migrants for a certain period of time. As a result of the study, the case of the Gaya Global Center, a form of solidarity between existing migrant communities, further highlighted the importance of the migrant community from the perspective of combining the aspect of social integration policies and locality of the projection of the characteristics of each community. In other words, the Gaya Global Center is a space with symbolic meaning as a transnational space where migrants and indigenous people can coexist.
