본 논문의 목적은 소피아 구바이둘리나의 <샤콘느>와 요한 제바스티안 바흐의 <골드베르크 변주곡>을 비교함으로써 구바이둘리나의 <샤콘느>에 드러난 바흐의 영향을 밝히는 데 있다. 구바이둘리나의 <샤콘느> 자체에 대한 분석 논문은 이미 존재하는바, 본 연구에서는 소피아 구바이둘리나의 <샤콘느>에 드러난 바흐의 영향에 초점을 맞춰 살펴보았다. 베라 루콤스키와의 인터뷰에서 구바이둘리나는 자신의 음악에 가장 많은 영향을 준 작곡가를 바흐라 밝혔고, 바흐의 곡 중에서도 <골드베르크 변주곡>은 샤콘느 형식이며, 중간에 푸가가 사용되었고, 주제로 돌아가 끝맺는다는 점에서 구바이둘리나의 <샤콘느>와 구조적 유사점을 가지고 있기에 이 두 곡을 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 구조적 유사점 이외에도 박의 분할, 주제의 변형 및 발전, 모방적 기법, 오스티나토의 사용 등 작곡기법 면에서도 상당히 유사하다는 점을 알 수 있었다. 한편, 구바이둘리나의 <샤콘느>에 사용된 중심음 체계, 불협화음, 불규칙한 박자 등의 현대적 요소는 이 곡에 바흐와 구별되는 20세기 샤콘느로서의 성격을 부여하는 장치로 작용하고 있음을 발견할 수 있었다. 본 논문이 연주자들에게 구바이둘리나의 <샤콘느>를 바라보는 새로운 시각을 제시할 수 있기를 기대해 본다.

The purpose of this paper is to reveal Bach’s influence in Gubaidulina’s < Chaconne > by drawing comparisons between Gubaidulina’s < Chaconne > and Bach’s < Goldberg Variations >. Since the analysis paper on Gubaidulina’s < Chaconne > itself already exists, this study will examine Bach’s influence in Gubaidulina’s < Chaconne >. In an interview with Vera Lukomsky, Gubaidulina acknowledged Bach as the composer who exerted the most influence on her musical style. The structural parallels between Bach’s < Goldberg Variations > and Gubaidulina’s < Chaconne > serve as a starting point for this comparative analysis. Both pieces adopt the chaconne form. Additionally, they incorporate a fuga in the middle section, culminating in a thematic conclusion. This study delves into the examination of these structural similarities and extends the analysis to encompass composition techniques, including the subdivision of beats, theme transformation and development, contrapuntal methods, and the use of ostinato. The findings not only confirm the structural affinities but also reveal similarities in compositional techniques. However, distinctions emerge in the incorporation of modern elements in Gubaidulina’s < Chaconne >, such as the tonal center system, dissonance and irregular meter. These elements contribute to defining Gubaidulina’s composition as a distinct 20th century chaconne. It is hoped that this paper will offer performers a new perspective on Gubaidulina’s < Chaconne >.
