본 연구의 목적은 영유아 교실에서 인공지능 로봇 놀이를 영유아에게 제공한 경험이 있는 교사들에게 심층면담을 실시하여 인공지능 로봇의 놀이 매체로서의 기능과 역할을 탐색해보고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 본 연구는 인공지능 로봇을 교실에서 활용한 경험이 있는 영유아 담임교사 4명을 인터뷰하여 교실에서 영유아의 인공지능 로봇과의 놀이를 관찰한 내용을 토대로 인공지능 로봇 놀이에 대해 인식한 내용을 반복적 비교분석법을 통해 분석하였다. 그 결과를 2개의 상위범주와 7개의 하위범주로 구분하여 정리하여 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교사들은 영유아 인공지능 로봇이 누리과정이 제시하는 다섯 가지 영역(신체운동 건강, 사회관계, 의사소통, 예술경험, 자연탐구)의 목표를 성취하는 데 도움이 되는 놀이 매체인 것으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교사들은 영유아가 인공지능 로봇과 놀이할 때 사고력 및 창의성을 나타내는 것을 통해 인공지능 로봇이 미래 인재에게 필요한 역량을 키우는데 도움이 되는 놀이 매체인 것으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 인공지능 로봇이 영유아들이 성취해야 하는 교육적 내용을 성취하기에 적합하며 미래인재로서 함양해야 하는 창의성과 사고력을 함양하는데 도움이 되는 교육 매체임을 시사한다.
The purpose of this study was to conduct in-depth interviews with teachers who have experience in providing artificial intelligence robot play to infants and toddlers in infant and toddler classrooms to explore the function and role of artificial intelligence robot as a play tool. To this end, this study interviewed four homeroom teachers of infants and toddlers who had experienced using artificial intelligence robot in the classroom and analyzed their perceptions of artificial intelligence robot play through repeated comparative analysis based on the observation of infants and toddlers' play with artificial intelligence robot in the classroom. The results are divided into 2 upper categories and 7 lower categories. First, it was found that teachers perceive artificial intelligence robot for infants and toddlers as a play tool that helps them achieve the goals of the five areas (physical exercise and health, social relations, communication, art experience, and nature exploration) presented by the Nuri Course. Second, it was found that teachers recognize artificial intelligence robot as a play tool that helps them develop the competencies necessary for future talents by showing their thinking ability and creativity when infants and toddlers play with artificial intelligence robot. These results suggested that artificial intelligence robot is suitable for achieving the educational content that infants and toddlers need to achieve, and that it is an educational tool that helps to cultivate creativity and thinking skills that should be cultivated as future competence.
