This study was conducted to reveal central phenomena regarding the experiences of play therapists in the post-COVID-19 era. For this purpose, one semi-structured interview approximately 100 to 120 minutes in length was conducted with five experienced play therapists from Aug to Oct 2023. Based on the transcripts, the participants' experiences were analyzed according to the research method suggested by Giorgi (2004). The essence of the experience finally derived were divided into 5 structures and 23 subcategories. The five themes are ‘Experiencing a crisis’, ‘Struggling’, ‘Having the opportunity for transition’, ‘Recognizing the impact’, and ‘Adapting to the environment’. This study is significant in that it reveals the essential meaning of the experience of play therapists in the post-COVID-19 era and presents discussion points to prepare for pandemic situations in the play therapy field.
