The purpose of this study is to establish a successful channel of communication for both producers (choreographers) and consumers (appreciator) by enhancing the understanding of the works through logical analysis of contemporary dance. Semiotics is the study of a kind of message targeting symbols. Among them, Peirce's semiotics, the founder of modern semiotics, is useful as a science that analyzes the In-depth structure that dance touches as art. Above all, it is beneficial because it understands the relationship between artwork and the icon sign, and provides a discourse on how it develops into an aesthetic indication and creates an emotional character of the artwork and artistic symbol. Therefore, the semiotic approach can be solved from the instability of the relativity and temporality of dance, which will be an excellent solution to discuss the meaning of 'modernity' which contemporary dance has and the implications of the concepts presented at the stage of interpretation of works.
