본 연구원은 2011 년부터 다문화청소년 패널조사를 수행하고 있다. 다문화청소년 패널조사(MAPS: Multicultural Adolescents Pannel Study)는 다문화청소년을 대상으로 하는 국내 유일의 종단패널연구로, 다문화청소년에 대한 막연한 고정관념으로부터 벗어나 보다 객관적 시각에 근거한 다문화청소년정책의 방향성 및 정책적 대안마련에 기여해왔다. 그러나 점차 많은 다문화청소년들이 학교에 진입하고 있는 이 시점에서 기 구축된 자료를 가지고 현재의 다문화청소년들의 현황을 파악하는 데 한계가 있을 수 있다. 따라서 한국청소년정책연구원에서는 현재의 초등학생을 대상으로 새로운 패널을 구축하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 신규패널의 표본설계, 조사문항설계, 조사방법설계를 추진하였으며, 최종적으로 TAPI 시스템을 구축하여 신규패널 조사에서 보다 최신의 기법을 적용하여 효율성을 도모하고자 하였다. 본 연구 결과보다 다양한 유형의 다문화청소년들에 대한 현황을 파악할 수 있는 기반을 마련할 수 있을 것으로 생각되며, 이는 향후 국내 다문화청소년에 대한 다양한 영역의 자료를 제공함으로써 다문화청소년정책에 대한 학술적 이론적 기여가 가능할 것으로 기대한다.

NYPI has conducted multicultural youth panel studies(MAPS) for multicultural teenagers since 2011. The study is the only longitudinal panel study of multicultural youth in Korea, which has contributed so far to the orientation and policy alternative to multicultural youth policies based on more objective perspectives. However, recently, as the number of the multicultural youths are increasing in schools, it is expected that there will be limits in identifying the current status of multicultural teenagers with established data, so the National Y이jth Policy Institute wanted to build a new panel for current elementary school students. For the purpose, the research team promoted sample design, question design, and survey method design of the new panel, and ultimately designed a TAPI system to improve efficiency by applying more up-to-date techniques to the new panel survey. This study has prepared us to accurately identify not only multicultural teenagers but also more diverse types of multicultural teenagers who are born in Korea, which is expected to provide a basis for generating a rich academic and theoretical study results by providing various fields of data on multicultural youth in the future.
