본 연구는 이명세 감독의 단편영화 <그대 없이는 못 살아>(2017)를 중심으로 시적 연출 분석을 통해 영화의 시적 연출을 실제적으로 연구하고자 한다. 연구 방법으로는 이명세 감독의 시적 연출 작품인 단편영화 <그대 없이는 못 살아>(2017)를 중심으로 내러티브, 장르, 미장센, 편집의 시적 연출 분석을 통해 이명세 감독이 어떻게 시적 연출을 통해 시적으로 영화를 연출하고 확장하고 다층적으로 만드는지 연구하고자 하였다. 본 논문에서는 시의 언어와 영화 언어를 같은 선상에서 바라봄으로써 시의 단어와 영화의 쇼트 이미지, 시의 문학성과 영화의 시각성을 영화적 관점에서 분석하고자 하였다. 시적 영화에서는 서술하기보다는 파편화되고 균열되고 함축적인 영상들의 압축, 비약, 병치, 은유를 통한 시적 연출을 통해 다의적인 해석을 만들어내고 시각적 서정을 연출한다고 할 수 있다. 이러한 관점에서 이명세 감독의 단편영화 <그대 없이는 못 살아>가 가지는 일반적인 서사 중심 연출과의 차별점을 찾아내고 구체적으로 어떻게 내러티브, 장르, 미장센, 편집의 시적 연출을 시도했는지를 분석해 보았다. 시적 연출 분석을 통해 이명세 감독은 내러티브, 장르, 미장센, 편집에서 인과적인 서사 중심보다는 파편화되고 균열되고 함축적인 이미지들의 압축, 시적 비약, 병치와 은유를 통해서 시적 표현과 다의적인 해석을 만들어내며 시각적 서정을 연출한다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study is to practically study the poetic direction of the film through analysis of poetic direction, focusing on director Lee Myung-se's short film "I Can't Live Without You (2017)". The research method is to analyze the poetic production of narrative, genre, mise-en-scène, and editing, focusing on director Lee Myung-se's poetic directing short film < I Can't Live Without You > (2017) to know how director Lee Myung-se poetically direct the film. The purpose of this paper was to study how to direct, expand, and create a multi-layered film. By looking at the language of poetry and the language of film along the same line, the words of poetry, the short images of film, the literary nature of poetry, and the visuality of film can be viewed from a cinematic perspective. It was intended to be analyzed in. In poetic films, rather than narrating, it can be said that fragmented, cracked, and implicit images are compressed, leaped, juxtaposed, and poetically directed through metaphors to create polysemic interpretations and produce visual lyricism. From this perspective, we looked for differences in director Lee Myung-se's short film < I Can't Live Without You > from the general narrative-centered production and analyzed specifically how he attempted to create a poetic production of narrative, genre, mise-en-scène, and editing. Through an analysis of the poetic essence of director Lee Myung-se's short film "I Can't Live Without You", director Lee Myung-se focuses on the compression, poetic leap, juxtaposition, and metaphor of fragmented, cracked, and implicit images rather than focusing on a causal narrative in narrative, genre, mise-en-scène, and editing. It was found that visual lyricism was created by creating poetic expressions and polysemous interpretations.
