This study investigates factors on adult offspring’s dietary competence. Specifically, we focus on influence of parents' dietary education experience. While previous research has explored various dietary competencies and individual education initiatives, limited attention has been given to household-level factors. To address this gap, we employed a 2-level mixed model, considering both individual and household levels, to analyze the overall dietary competence index and specific competencies. The data were derived from the Food Consumption Behavior Survey 2021, combining household survey and individual survey. Statistical analyses were conducted to determine significant variables related to the dietary competence of adult offspring, including gender, education level, personal income, frequency of sharing meals with the family, and home ownership status. Notably, adult offspring of households whose main purchaser received dietary education showed a increased consumer competence. This study contributes to understanding of effect of parental dietary education on adult offspring's dietary behavior and informs development of effective dietary education programs.
