The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the instructor’s gesture in video-based learning can have a positive effect on the students' academic achievement and course satisfaction. Participants were randomly assigned to three groups according to the video(with instructor’s gesture; with instructor but without gesture; without instructor). As a result of one-way ANOVA, there was no significant difference in academic achievement between the three groups, but there was a significant difference in course satisfaction. The group who watched the video with the instructor’s gestures was more satisfied with the lecture than the group who watched the video without gestures. It suggests that the video with instructor’s gesture can enhance the interaction with the students and have a positive effect on the students’ satisfaction. The significance of this study is to understand effective teaching methods that can promote students' learning in designing learning videos.
