본 연구는 자폐스펙트럼장애인을 위한 메타버스 콘텐츠 개발자들의 개발경험을 통해 개발자들의 인식이 어떠한가를 알아보고자 하였다. 총 3개기관의 5명의 참여자들과 개별심층면담을 진행하였고 전사된 자료는 개방형코딩과 축코딩과정으로 진행하여 최종 3개의 대주제와 6개의 소주제로 나눌 수 있었다. 연구결과 플랫폼 개발시 기획배경과 운영에 대한 인식에서는 자폐스펙트럼장애인들이 실생활에 입각한 사회성 프로그램으로 주로 다양한 상황과 환경에서 사회적 기술을 증진하기 위해 개발되었고 영유아부터 성인기까지 다양했다. 또한 개발기간은 주로 3년으로 임상과정을 거치면 3년 이상이 되었다. 플랫폼의 개발과정에서는 현실과 똑같은 모의상황으로 사용자 편의성을 고려하였으며 몰입과 보상시스템 등 욕구와 동기를 높일 수 있도록 구현하였으며 개발과정에서 접근성과 보급비용, 오프라인과 다른 환경이 어려움으로 인식하였다. 또한 개인정보와 윤리적 고려에 대한 부분도 고려했음을 알 수 있었다. 플랫폼 개발이후 연구로서의 플랫폼 개발에서의 비판적 의견이 있었고, 이에 기술증진과 자폐스펙트럼장애 당사자에게 미치는 영향, 치료적 형태와 효용, 윤리적 문제들이 고려점으로 인식되었다.

This study aims to investigate the perceptions of developers who create metaverse content for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) through their development experiences. Five participants from three organizations were individually interviewed, and the collected data was then analyzed through open and axial coding processes-resulting in three major themes and six sub-themes. The research findings revealed that developers primarily aimed to enhance social skills in various situations and environments based on real-life social programs for individuals with ASD, from infancy to adulthood, in their understanding of the planning background and operation of platform development. During the platform development process, the developers considered user convenience by creating simulated situations that resembled real-life scenarios. They also implemented a reward system, as well as other motivational factors to increase user engagement. However, they faced difficulties with accessibility, dissemination costs, and the difference between online and offline environments. As a result, issues such as the impact on individuals with ASD, therapeutic forms and efficacy, and ethical considerations were identified as important considerations.
