본 연구는 중증장애인을 형제자매로 둔 성인초기의 비장애형제자매가 자신의 생애 경험과 관계 경험을 통하여 원가족과 핵가족을 어떻게 인식하고 있는지 살펴보고 이들을 향한 상담학적 지원방안을 모색하고자 한다. 연구 진행은 6개월간 집중적으로 자료를 수집하여 최종으로 선정된 6명의 참여자와 평균 2회에서 최대 4회에 걸친 심층 면담을 진행했고 이를 Giorgi의 방법으로 분석했다. 분석 결과 53개의 중심의미단위와 17개의 주제 모음으로 나뉜 참여자들의 가족에 대한 인식은 ‘견고한 인연’, ‘교환적 관계’, ‘켜켜이 묵힌 애증’, ‘두려움의 그림자를 안은 희망의 빛’, 그리고 ‘염원’이라는 5개의 범주로 구분되었다. 이를 토대로 성인 비장애형제자매의 가족에 대한 인식 이해와 상담학적 도움의 방안을 제안하고 추후 연구를 위하여 제언하고자 한다.

This study aims to understand how adults in early adulthood who have siblings with severe disabilities perceive their family, how the perception of family appears in the present and future their nuclear family, and to explore counseling approaches for them. The study was conducted through in-depth interview with six selected participants over a period of six months, with each participant being interviewed averaging two to up to four times. The data were analyzed using Giorgi’s method, resulting in the identification of 53 central units of meaning and 17 thematic clusters. These clusters represented participants’ perception of their families, categorized into five themes: ‘strong bond’, ‘reciprocal relationship’, ‘deep-seated emotions,’hopeful light in the shadow of fear’, and "wish". Based on these findings, suggestions and recommendations are proposed for understanding and counseling support for the perceptions of adult siblings without disabilities toward their families, and for future research.
