During the Japanese Occupation period, the terrorist activities committed by the Korean Anarchists within Chinese territory were based on their policy of the so-called 'Active Terrorism', and this policy considerably served the cause of National liberation. Their activities had some distinct phases, such as terrorist activities based on the 'Active Terrorism' policy, terrorist activities coordinated with Kim Gu & the party under his leadership, and terrorist activities based on a global network. The Euiyeol-dan group, and the Korean Anarchist Federation in China(founded in 1927) were the main bodies which led the Korean Anarchists' terrorist activities within Chinese territory during the 1920s’. Their activities were based on the 'Active Terrorism' policy, which became a more refined, and detailed method for the National Liberation movement through Shin Chae Ho’s ‘The Declaration of the Chosun Revolution'. The Beijing branch of the KAFC(The Beijing alliance) launched several terrorist attacks against the Japanese, including the attempt to bomb the Japanese military headquarters and the Japanese Embassy in Tenjin/天津. During the 1930s', the Namhwa Korean Youth Association led the terrorist activities, which were mostly coordinated under the joint effort with Kim Gu and his men. Yet at the time the failed attempt to establish a military base for the National liberation movement inside Manchuria had driven the Korean Anarchists back into the Chinese territory, and was gravely effecting their morale as well. The repeated failures left them rather desperate, and their activities became more nihilistic. Pro-Japanese figures and wealthy Koreans were the main targets. Terrorist activities based on a global network were led by the Western Anarchist Association(founded in 1928) and the Anti-Japanese Alliance (founded in 1931)- The latter became a more Korean-based alliance when the Chinese Anarchists chose to leave in 1932. The assassination of Consul Ariyosi/有吉明 was a huge shock to the Chinese politicians.
