본 연구는 여자 흡연청소년의 담배 구매(획득) 경험에 대한 탐색을 목적으로 하였다. 여자 흡연청소년 4명과 청소년기 흡연 경험이 있는 여자 대학생 4명을 대상으로 개별심층면접을 진행하였다. 이후 주제분석을 통해 수집한 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 여자 흡연청소년은 여성흡연에 대한 부정적인 사회 인식과 지인을 통한 담배 구매의 어려움으로 인해 대리구매를 선호하고 있었다. 대리구매는 온, 오프라인 모두를 통해 이루어졌으며, 대부분 남성 지인 또는 모르는 남성을 통해 담배를 구매(획득)하고 있었다. 특히 여성 흡연청소년은 남자에게 담배 구매를 요청하고 있었으며, 남성 구매자는 담배 구매에 대한 대가로 개인적인 연락이나 입고있던 속옷판매 등을 요구하기도 하였다. 이처럼 여자 흡연청소년에게 담배 구매(획득)를 대가로 제안되는 성 상품화 및 성매매 노출 위험은 흡연행동 이상의 문제로 이어질 위험이 큼을 확인하였다. 본 연구 결과는 여자 흡연청소년이 담배를 구매(획득)하는 경험에 대한 파악을 바탕으로 또 다른 문제 발생을 예방하는 데에 유용하게 활용될 것으로 기대한다. 나아가, 여자 흡연청소년의 담배 구매(획득) 시 발생할 수 있는 문제를 예방하고 억제하기 위한 정책적, 실천적 방안을 마련하는 데 기여할 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the experience of cigarette purchasing (acquisition) among female adolescent smokers. Individual in-depth interviews were conducted with four female adolescent smokers and four female college students who had smoked during their teenage years. The collected data was then analyzed using thematic analysis. The study found that female adolescent smokers preferred proxy purchasing due to negative social perceptions of female smoking and the difficulty of purchasing cigarettes through personal means. Proxy purchasing was done both online and offline, with most cigarettes being purchased (acquired) through male acquaintances or strangers. In particular, female adolescent smokers were found to often request males to purchase cigarettes on their behalf, and the male buyers sometimes asked for personal contact or even sexual favors in exchange for buying the cigarettes. This highlights the potential risk of female adolescent smokers being subjected to sexual objectification and exposed to prostitution, which goes way beyond the problem of smoking behavior. It is expected that the findings will be useful in preventing further problems involved in the situation where female adolescent smokers have to rely on males to access cigarettes. Furthermore, the study can contribute to the development of policy and practical measures to prevent and mitigate problems that may arise when female adolescent smokers purchase cigarettes.
