본 연구는 청소년 자살의 특징과 현황을 살펴보고 자살의 원인을 가정, 학교, 사회 측면으로 규명하며, 자살예방현황을 살펴보고, 기독교 관점에서 자살을 어떻게 보아야할지 올바른 관점을 새로운 관점을 제시하며, 자살 예방을 위한 교회의 역할의 필요성을 언급하고 교회가 자살 예방을 위하여 어떠한 역할을 해야 할지 구체적 대안을 제시하는 것이다. 청소년 자살의 특징으로는 청소년 자살은 자기 파괴적인 행동이며, 가족과 친척 및 친구들과 주변 사람들에게 충격적인 괴로움을 주고 사회의 불안을 야기 시키는 전염성이 강한 심각한 사회문제로 볼 수 있다. 청소년 사망원인으로 다른 사항들은 많이 낮아지고 있지만 여전히 자살률은 높다. 청소년 자살의 원인은 크게 세 가지로 볼 수 있는데 첫째는 가정불화 문제이고, 둘째로는 학업성적, 진학 문제 및 학교 폭력으로 인한 학교문제이다. 셋째는 사회양극화 문제 및 대중매체와 미디어의 부정적 역할로 인한 사회문제로 볼 수 있다. 청소년 자살 예방 기관으로는 크게 학교 기관과 학교 외 다른 여러 정부기관이 있지만, 국내의 모든 청소년 자살 예방을 온전히 감당하지 못한다. 그러므로 교회가 청소년 자살 예방에 함께 힘써야 한다. 교회는 전국 각 지역에 있으며, 여러 직종의 사람들이 교회 안에 있으므로 전국적으로 다양한 방법으로 자살을 예방하는데 큰 도움이 될 수 있다. 구체적으로는 생명존중 부모특강, 자살 예방교육을 위한 청소년 교육, 건강한 학교생활을 위한 목회 상담, 상담도우미 조직, 전문기관과 연계, 1:1 과외 및 멘토링 지원, 장학금 지원, 건전한 미디어 제작지원 등으로 청소년 자살예방을 감당할 수 있다. 물론 교회가 이 모든 대안을 다 시행하기에는 무리일 것이다. 하지만 각 교회의 특성과 지역의 상황에 따라, 또한 교회 안의 인적 자원에 따라 도입할 수 있는 부분들을 도입해 나아간다면, 교회안의 청소년 뿐 만 아니라 그 지역사회에 있는 청소년들에게도 선한 영향력을 끼치며 생명을 살리는 교회가 될 수 있을 것이다.

This study examines the characteristics and status of youth suicide, identifies the causes of suicide in terms of family, school and society, looks at the status of suicide prevention, presents a new perspective on how to view suicide from a Christian point of view, mentions the need for the church's role in preventing suicide, and presents concrete alternatives to what role the church should play in preventing suicide. Youth suicide is characterized by self-destructive behavior and is a highly contagious social problem that causes shocking suffering to family members, relatives, friends, and causes social unrest. The cause of death for adolescents is much lower, but the suicide rate is still high. There are three main causes of youth suicide: first, domestic discord, second, school problems caused by school violence. Third, it can be seen as a social problem due to social polarization and its negative role in the media and media.There are many other government agencies besides schools, but all of the nation's youth suicides are not fully covered.Therefore, the church should work together to prevent youth suicide. The church is located in various parts of the country, and people from different professions are inside the church, which can be of great help in preventing suicide in various ways throughout the country. Specifically, it can handle youth suicide prevention through life-respecting parenting, youth education for suicide prevention education, pastoral counseling for healthy school life, counseling helper organization, linkage with professional institutions, 1:1 tutoring and mentoring support, scholarship support and sound media production support. Of course, it would be too much for the church to implement all of these alternatives. However, depending on the characteristics of each church and the local situation, and also on the human resources within the church, it could be a life-saving church with good influence not only on the youth in the church but also on the youth in the community.
