본 논문은 2022년 제20대 대통령선거에서 정당의 선거연합이 선거 결과에 어떤 영향을 미쳤는지를 분석한다. 정치의 본질이 집단 간 정체성의 경쟁에 기초한다면 정당간 세경쟁은 불가피할 것이다. 이 가운데서 지역, 이념, 세대, 성별은 정당의 정체성을 이루는 요소로서 이들의 연합을 통해 정당은 지지자들을 동원한다. 2022년 대통령선거 유권자 설문조사와 지상파 방송 출구조사 자료를 활용하여 본 논문은 2022년 대선에서 정당 선거연합의 영향력을 확인하였다. 이런 결과를 토대로 정당의 선거연합이 오늘날 정치 양극화와 민주주의 역진 현상에 어떤 의미를 내포하는지 토론한다.

This paper examines the influence of the political party-led electoral coalitions on the 20^th presidential election in South Korea. If the nature of politics is based on the competition of group identification, power competition between parties is unavoidable. Region, ideology, generation and gender that are composed of the identity of party are aligned with parties and play a pivotal role in mobilize supporters. Using a survey of voter perception on the 2022 Korean presidential election and an exit poll for the election, the study presents the empirical results. The results show that party-led electoral coalitions have a major impact on the results of the presidential election. Based on this, the paper discuss the implication of party-led electoral coalitions in the days of political polarization and democratic regression.
