Objective: Through the analysis of Afghanistan residents and their perception of Korean Military Hospitals, along with the outcome of Korean Military Hospitals in Afghanistan, this study indicates for further development plans. Also provides theoretical basis for the establishment of MND's policy in preparation for a multi-functional extension of foreign Medical Dispatch Units. By doing so we can prepare for smooth dispatch and have much success in the medical support mission objectives after the dispatch of the Medical Units have been completed. Thus followed by an enhancement in the nation's prestige.
Methods: This case study observed a group of 300people from September 1st. 2007 through October 30th 2007, who came to the Korean Military Hospital in Afghanistan for medical treatments and surveyed them with 23questions. The subjects of study were 60% male and 40% female ranging in ages 20 to 40. The ratio of the subjects ages were 30% in their 20s, 50% in their 30s , and 17% in their 40s. The research data was then gathered and processed during February and March of 2008. After the final analysis on March 3rd, 2008, dispatch officers and related researchers have came to a conclusion after their discussion on how to apply these methods.
Conclusion: First, information of Korean Military Hospitals were delivered by the people who have visited the hospitals first. Second, those who have visited the Korean hospitals continued their visits. Third, the quality of Korean medicine is recognized in excellency. Fourth, almost half of the residents who come for treatments come from nearly 50 to 100km away. Fifth, residents claim Korean Military hospital's preparedness against terrorism is flawless and that they feel safe during their treatments. Sixth, in case of receiving relief products, the preference is in an order starting from school products, to clothes and shoes, then finally daily products. Seventh, the Korean Hospital's role in Afghanistan strongly enhanced Korea's national prestige.
