Objective; The primary objective of this study was to develop a simple, rapid, and efficient method for the determination of fluoroquinolone antibiotics, enrofloxacin(EFX) in chicken eggs using a high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) with a fluorescence detector
Method; Egg samples were obtained from 5th Logistics support command and 70 total egg samples were analyzed by HPLC. the samples were extracted by the solid-phase extraction (SPE) process, and the extracted samples were analyzed using an eclipse C18 reverse phase column using a mixture of acetonitrile and water containing 0.4% phosphoric acid and 0.4% triethylamine (15:85, v/v) as a mobile phase (pH = 1.74) with gradient conditions
Results; The calibration curves were linear (R2 ≥ 0.9956) over a concentration range of 0.03125-1.0ug/ml. the validated limit of detection(LOD) and limit of quantitation(LOQ) was 0.007 and 0.02 ug/ml. the analysis showed that none of the samples were positive (contained inhibiting substances) in total egg samples.
Conclusion; We figured out validated and rapid HPLC assays for determination of enrofloxacin residues in eggs using modified gradient conditions and SPE process.
