‘공군 부곰카페(https://cafe.daum.net/SkyEagle)’는 아들이 공군으로 입대해 의무 복무를 하게 된 상황에서 그 부모를 비롯한 가족과 절친한 친구들이 회원으로 가입해, 아들의 군 복무와 관련한 정보를 서로 공유하고 그 기간 동안의 그리움을 나누며 위로하는 인터넷 다음(daum) 카페이다. 이 카페의 회원들은 코로나19로 인해 군대의 휴가나 면회가 자유롭지 않았던 시기에 급속한 성장을 보였는데, 그 기간 동안 부곰 카페 내 게시글과 댓글에서 문학작품을 통해 서로 위로하고 공감하며 연대해나가는 상호치료로 볼 만한 과정이 전개되고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.
이에 대해 자세히 파악하고자 이 논문에서는 ‘공군 부곰카페’가 상호치료 공간으로서 규정될 수 있는 특징들에 대해 정리한 후, 그 안에서 이루어지는 다양한 문학치료의 양상들에 대해 작자군의 특성과 더불어 장르별로 예시를 들어가며 검토했다. 카페 회원들은 본인이 직접 지은 창작시나 창작가사, 기존 작품에 대한 소개의 글이나 감상문 및 평론, 그리고 체험에 바탕을 둔 교술산문 등의 다양한 장르를 활용해 게시글과 화답글을 올리며 소통했다. 그 과정을 통해 아들을 군대에 보낸 가족들이 가졌던 불안 요소가 점차 사라지고 글쓰기와 창작을 통한 정서적 표현 욕구와 자존감이 충족되면서 결국에는 작품의 소통을 통한 공감과 연대의식이 확보되는 치료의 경험을 공유하게 되었다.
이 논문을 통해 특정의 상황을 공유하는 집단 내에서 온라인 공간을 통해 이루어질 수 있는 문학치료의 가능성을 확인한 만큼, 그 장점의 최대치를 넓히면서 동시에 과제를 보완하는 방법까지 고민함으로써 이러한 인터넷 공간이 더 확장되고 깊이를 더해 갈 수 있기를 기대한다.
The 'Air Force Bugom Cafe' (https://cafe.daum.net/SkyEagle) is a place where parents and close friends join as members when their sons enlist in the Air Force and undertake their mandatory service. It is the Internet's Daum cafe where people share relevant information, including their longing for their family members during the enlistment period, and comfort each other. The cafe’s membership grew rapidly when military leaves of absence or visits were not allowed due to COVID-19. During that period, it was confirmed from the posts and comments in the Bugom Cafe that a process was developing that could be seen as mutual therapy where people can comfort, and sympathize with each other, and build solidarity through literary works.
This study examines the key characteristics of the 'Air Force Bugom Cafe' as a literary therapy space and analyzes the various literary therapy practices that occur within it, considering the characteristics of the authors and different genres. Members of the cafe share their own creative writing, such as poems or songs. It provides a venue to present existing literary works, essays and reviews, and experiential essays based on personal experiences. Through this process, the anxieties of families who have sent loved ones to the military are gradually alleviated, and the desire for emotional expression and self-esteem through writing and creative expression is fulfilled. These ultimately lead to a sense of empathy and solidarity through shared therapeutic experiences.
This study confirms the potential of literary therapy in an online space for a group that shares a specific situation. It is hoped that by expanding the advantages and addressing the challenges of such online spaces, the use of literary therapy can continue to grow in the future.
