연구 목적: 본 연구는 혐오가 만연한 현대 사회의 병폐를 ‘선한 사마리아인의 비유’를 통해 진단하고, 기독교적 이웃 사랑의 가치관을 제시함으로써 혐오를 극복하기 위한 방안을 모색함에 그 목적이 있다. 연구 방법: 이를 위해 신해석학적 비유 해석법을 통해 해당 비유를 살펴보았다. 신해석학은 비유의 내용이 청자의 삶의 자리에서 사건으로 경험되는 ‘언어사건’이 되어야 함을 강조한다. 연구 내용: 비유의 청자인 율법교사는 비유 속 비정한 제사장과 레위인에 동일시된다. 이때 청자는 혐오하는 주체로 발견되며 사마리아인에 대한 문화적ㆍ권력적 혐오와 강도 만난 자에 대한 복합적 혐오를 경험하게 된다. 이는 그 자신에게 내재된 혐오를 직면시키려는 예수의 의도가 반영된 것이다. 따라서 현시대의 독자 역시 해당 비유로 들어가 혐오하는 주체로서의 자기 자신을 마주할 수 있어야 한다. 결론 및 제언: 혐오하는 주체로서의 자기 자신을 발견하는 독자들에게 비유는 혐오의 극복 방안으로서 ‘이웃 사랑’의 가치를 제시해 온다. 내 이웃을 내 몸같이 사랑하라는 기독교적 가치관은 혐오 사회에 대한 좋은 처방이 되어줄 것으로 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the ways to overcome hatred by diagnosing the ills of modern society where hatred is rampant through ‘The Parable of Good Samaritan’ and presenting Christian values of neighborly love. To this end, the parable is examined through The New Hermeneutic parable interpretation method. The New Hermeneutic emphasizes that the content of a parable should be a ‘linguistic event’ experienced as an event in the life of the listener. The hearer of the parable, the expert in the law, is identified with the heartless priest and the Levites in the parable. At this time, the listener is discovered as a subject of hatred and experiences a cultural and authoritative hatred for the Samaritan and a complex hatred for the man who met the robbers. This reflects Jesus’ intention to face the hatred inherent in himself. Therefore, readers of the present era should be able to enter the parable and face themselves as the subject of hatred. For readers who discover themselves as the subject of hatred, the parable suggests the value of ‘love for neighbors’ as a way to overcome hatred. The Christian values of loving my neighbor as myself are expected to be a good prescription for a hateful society.
